Adding CSI 500 ETF Options by SSE Approved in Principle

On September 2, 2022, the China Securities Regulatory Commission (CSRC) announced that it would approve the launch of CSI 500 ETF options on the Shanghai Stock Exchange (SSE) according to relevant procedures, so as to improve the risk management system of the capital market and better meet the needs of investors on risk management.

In February 2015, China's first exchange-traded options product, the SSE 50 ETF options, was officially listed and traded, making a breakthrough in exchange-traded stock options. In December 2019, the CSRC expanded the stock options pilot. The listing of CSI 300 ETF options opened a new stage for the multi-underlying-asset operation of SSE's stock options market. All along, the SSE's stock options market has been characterized by stable operation, effective measures for risk control, reasonable market pricing, rational investor participation, steady growth in market size and gradual performance of its economic functions. Providing investors with a new instrument for risk management, it has won wide recognition in the market and has become an important part of China's financial market.

Next, the SSE will make active preparations under the guidance of the CSRC to ensure the smooth launch of CSI 500 ETF options.
