Focus on SSE: Southeast Asia Series - Capturing Resilience and Growth in Chinese Assets Amid Global Uncertainty
The Shanghai Stock Exchange (SSE) held the "Focus on SSE: Southeast Asia Series" virtual roadshow on April 21, 2026. Under the theme "Capturing Resilience and Growth in Chinese Assets Amid Global Uncertainty", the event highlighted the resilience of China's economic growth and the stability of Chinese asset performance amid a complex and volatile international landscape, as well as the technology-driven growth opportunities in China's capital market.
The event targeted Southeast Asian investors, with nearly 20 institutions participating, including investment institutions, financial intermediaries, and stock exchanges from Singapore, Thailand, Indonesia, Vietnam, and the Philippines.
In the market updates session, the SSE noted that the recent resilience and risk resistance of China's market are underpinned by a transparent, stable, and predictable policy and market environment, the accelerated development of new quality productive forces, and the steady improvement in corporate quality.
The rapid development of the SSE ETF market—particularly the strong growth of STAR Market ETF products—has provided investors with important tools to allocate Chinese assets and capture China's growth opportunities.
The SSE also introduced a series of cooperation initiatives with Southeast Asian markets aimed at further facilitating investment by Southeast Asian investors in Chinese assets. In the long run, investing in Chinese assets will enable Southeast Asian investors to better share the growth dividends of the China-ASEAN region, as well as the benefits of bilateral cooperation and regional prosperity.
This event marked the SSE's 2nd online international roadshow this year and the first in its "Emerging Markets" series. Going forward, the SSE will launch more events with diverse themes and content for global investors across different regions and investor types.
