CLS | Foreign Institutions Make Over 5,500 A-Share Research Visits This Year, With STAR Market Companies in Focus
As of September 8, 2026, more than 610 foreign institutions had paid a combined 5,581 A-share research visits to thousands of listed companies this year, with markedly higher frequency and broader coverage than in previous years, according to Cailian Press on September 10.
Foreign institutions have shown a strong preference for leading companies in sectors including semiconductors, electronics, machinery manufacturing, power equipment, and healthcare.Of the 20 companies by foreign institutional research visits on the Shanghai Stock Exchange, 13 were listed on the STAR Market. The top five were Montage Technology, Orbbec, BeOne Medicines, OPT Machine Vision, and China Resources Microelectronics, while United Imaging Healthcare and Espressif Systems also ranked high in interest.Among Main Board companies, Huaqin Technology, Eastroc Beverage, GAC Group, and JCET Group also drew attention.Participating foreign institutions spanned major investment banks such as Morgan Stanley, Goldman Sachs, JPMorgan Chase, UBS, and Nomura; multi-strategy and hedge funds including Point72, Pinpoint, Millennium Management, and Balyasny Asset Management; major asset managers such as Fidelity, Schroders, BlackRock, Allianz, and T.
