Shanghai Securities News | SSE Organizes a Visit to STAR Market Companies for Nearly 30 Institutional Investors from Emerging Markets
On August 20, Shanghai Stock Exchange (SSE) wrapped up its "Discovering Value—International Investors Visit STAR Market Companies: Chip, AI & Computing Power Session", according to Shanghai Securities News and www.cnstock.com (He Xinyi).Running from August 17 to 20, the event brought nearly 30 institutional investor representatives from emerging markets, including Thailand and Saudi Arabia, to visit a number of STAR Market companies, offering them a first-hand look at the technical strength, growth momentum, and investment potential of China's innovative tech enterprises.
The session drew a diverse group of international institutions, including family offices, asset managers, insurers, and commercial banks. They paid a visit to nine STAR Market firms, such as MetaX and SUPCON Technology, which span a range of cutting-edge technology fields, including AI computing, industrial AI, computer vision, lithium-battery equipment, smart home technologies, wireless communications chips, multimedia chips, and embodied intelligence.
During the session, international investors traveled across Beijing, Hangzhou, and Shanghai, visiting corporate exhibition halls, R&D facilities, and production sites. They gained an in-depth understanding of the companies' development histories, core technologies, product applications, R&D initiatives, and market strategies, while engaging in detailed discussions with corporate executives on industry trends, growth prospects, corporate governance, and shareholder returns.
From home-developed GPUs and AI-powered computer vision technologies to intelligent manufacturing equipment, participating institutions gained a first-hand appreciation of the sustained investment and innovation by STAR Market companies in critical core technologies.According to several investors, the event was scheduled to make the best use of time, featured a representative selection of enterprises, and facilitated substantive, in-depth exchanges. It gave them a more comprehensive understanding of the innovation capacity, growth potential, and long-term investment value of Chinese tech enterprises. The participating institutions spoke positively of the session and expressed interest in joining future international investor research visits organized by SSE, with a view to deepening communication and engagement with outstanding SSE-listed companies.
Bringing overseas investors directly into companies' operations is an important way to facilitate international investors' understanding of Chinese listed companies, noted SSE.Compared with online roadshows, field visits allow investors to observe R&D progress, product applications, and operational performance more directly. They also help listed companies grasp more precisely the priorities of overseas investors, making two-way communication more targeted and effective.
Since the beginning of this year, SSE has organized exchanges between overseas institutional investors and more than 50 company-visits' worth of SSE-listed companies.SSE said it will, based on the interests and allocation needs of investors in different markets, continue to fine-tune its research arrangements, diversify the formats of investor exchanges, and encourage more overseas institutional investors to gain a deeper understanding of the fundamentals and long-term investment value of SSE-listed companies, in a bid to mobilize more medium- and long-term capital to China's capital markets.
