The Paper | Seven SSE-Listed Publicly Offered REITs Announce Shareholding Increase Plans This Year, with Maximum Value at About RMB 430 Million
Recently, Chuangjin Hexin Shounong REIT and CSC Shenyang International Software Park REIT respectively announced plans by their original rights holders and related parties to increase their shareholdings, citing confidence in the projects' future growth prospects and long-term investment gains.
According to statistics, five SSE-listed REITs have disclosed shareholding increase plans this year, including CCB Zhongguancun REIT, CMB Sci-Tech Innovation REIT, CUAM Shanghai Real Estate Commercial REIT, CSC Shounong Commercial REIT, and CICC Vipshop Commercial REIT.
With these latest announcements, a total of seven REITs listed in SSE have unveiled such shareholding increase plans this year, with the aggregate maximum shareholding increase value at approximately RMB 430 million.
Market experts noted that the coordinated moves by industry sponsors point to the growing maturity of the REITs market ecosystem. On the one hand, REITs allow a broad range of investors to share in the stable cash flows generated by high-quality real estate projects. On the other, original rights holders and related parties are proactively taking on their responsibilities by increasing their holdings to back reasonable valuations in the secondary market and safeguard the interests of smaller investors. Such moves could set a positive precedent for the market and help mobilize more long-term capital to REITs. (The Paper, Tian Zhongfang)
