Finance.CCTV | STAR Market Indices Adjust Constituents for Q1 2026, Further Enhancing Representativeness

CCTV-2 (Reporter: Jin Hemiao) learned from the Shanghai Stock Exchange (SSE) that, in accordance with index compilation rules, STAR Market indices including the STAR 50 are subject to regular quarterly constituent adjustments. This round of adjustments will take effect after market close on March 13. QUANTUMCTEK (688027), SKYVERSE (688361), and GEOVIS (688568) will be added to the STAR 50 Index. Ten securities, including HOTGEN (688068), SIRUI (688102), and JUNSHI BIOSCIENCES, will be added to the STAR 100 Index.

Following this adjustment, on the one hand, the STAR broad-based indices will further enhance their representativeness of the STAR Market. After the adjustment, the STAR 50 Index will have a total market capitalization of RMB 4.5 trillion, representing a coverage ratio of 39%. The STAR 100 Index will have a total market capitalization of RMB 2.7 trillion, with a coverage ratio of 24%. Together, the STAR 50 and STAR 100 will account for 63% of the total market capitalization of the STAR Market, an increase of 1.1% compared with before the adjustment, jointly providing a sound representation of the performance of large- and mid-cap securities on the STAR Market. On the other hand, the STAR 50 and STAR 100 have achieved an orderly exchange of constituents within the index system. The newly added constituents of the STAR 50 are selected from the STAR 100, while the removed constituents of the STAR 50 will be correspondingly transferred to the STAR 100. Through coordinated linkage, the two indices together represent the performance of large- and mid-cap securities on the STAR Market. The STAR 50 and STAR 100 now achieve comprehensive coverage of the six major industries on the STAR Market, featuring a diversified structure across emerging sectors. The weighting of the next-generation information technology sector in the STAR 50 has increased by approximately 2%, while the weighting of sectors such as new materials and biomedicine in the STAR 100 has risen by approximately 4%.
